Outcomes over the 9 month course of the project
We are pleased that all People and Skills participants took a step closer to employment, despite barriers faced by the economically inactive. We saw a significant change in participants for the duration of the project as they grew in confidence and strengthened their skills, whether this was in employability or language skills.
We are also very happy to report that additional participants maintained contact past March and informed us that they had now gained employment thanks to People and Skills.
KP had never been out of work prior to joining People and Skills, and found the idea of finding work daunting. KP had never used a computer before and was worried this would hold her back. KP was enrolled on People and Skills, and supported to overcome this fear of computers through a referral to Learn my Way. KP grew in both self-confidence and her digital skills and was able to independently browse the web and job search in no time.
